The Pavilion: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
We have been living in Cambodia for years now and this country has changed radically since I first came here. The Cambodian economy is booming at the moment with new luxury hotels and apartments being developed every day.
We have stayed in most of the luxury hotels in Phnom Penh and this has become our favorite! Why, do you ask?!
“ Built in the 1920’s as a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, this period building was converted into a hotel in 2006. Renovation of the finest examples of “Khmer-French architecture” reflects our commitment to preserve original layout and style. Since then, three adjacent and more spacious structures have been added to the Pavilion. #LivingCambodia “
My 12 Reasons The Pavilion is Fantastic:
This hotel is truly an oasis in the middle of a busy city. Perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle!
We love how quiet it is! There is low interaction with other guests and no kids because it’s an adult only hotel. Pavilion promises a peaceful and intimate experience for all guests.
You have a variety of great accommodation options!
Minibar stocked with quality wine at a good price.
It doesn’t feel like you are in the city because there is lots of vegetation and a beautiful garden. You can wake up and listen to birds singing. We even saw a hornbill once!
There are both Sunny and shady pools to choose from depending on your mood. Sometimes the sun in Cambodia is too much so it’s nice to chill under the big trees.
Friendly staff who are available 24h.
All the beds are extremely comfortable with great pillows.
Quality breakfast options are included and made fresh.
Cute decorations with vintage & unique art.
If you want to exercise, they also have a small workout center with free filtered water.
Good location, in the middle of the city! (10min walk from the Independence Monument and Riverside)
There are many options in the buildings or bungalows outside in the garden. We have stayed in these three options:
Room In The Building
Beautiful large room with four poster comfy beds.
Spacious bathroom with a nice shower.
Fenced In Bungalow With Private Jacuzzi (My Favorite!)
Super private with big fences around the garden.
Lots of plants, feels like you are far away from the city.
Very spacious garden area with Jacuzzi.
The bungalow has a unique design with wrap-around windows looking to the garden.
The room is nicely decorated, giving you jungle vibes!
Room With Private Pool
A simple room with a beautiful private pool to chill in.
Pool is not heated so it’s very refreshing with lots of plants around it for a spacious and relaxed feeling.
Flat screen TV, mosquito net if needed, shower facilities with comfy bathrobes, AC, minibar and good WiFi connection.
The Hotel also has a spa but it has been closed now during the pandemic.
TIP: This hotel has amazing offers once in a while on their Facebook page, check it out before booking! (Facebook: The Pavilion)
