We made a pact at the end of the boating season la We made a pact at the end of the boating season last year that this summer we would take a trip together. The catch? We wanted to trailer our boat, spend time on an inland lake, have lots of activities to choose from and eat some delicious food.

Can you guess from this picture where we decided to travel?!
Italy is always a good idea 🍋 Italy is always a good idea 🍋
Things to do in Positano Whether you’re in Po Things to do in Positano
Whether you’re in Positano to hike, experience the culture, or relax, there is something for everyone. Here are a few things to do while in Positano:
Positano Spiaggia: This is the main beach in Positano. It stretches about 300 meters with parts of it managed by L’incanto. Rent lounge chairs and umbrellas for the day and enjoy food and drinks provided by the L’incanto restaurant.

Path of the Gods: The Path of the Gods is a popular walking route that climbs along the cliff sides offering the best views of the Amalfi Coast.

Capri: Take a ferry and take in the sights!

Did you read guest writer @steph_experiences intro Did you read guest writer @steph_experiences introduction to her trip to Positano? Today, she discusses transportation:

How to Get to Positano
So let’s rip the bandaid off. Positano does not have an international airport. Scratch that, Positano does not have an airport what-so-ever. The closest airport is Naples, Italy. Cool. So you fly into Naples, then what?

You have a few options to get from Naples to Positano:

Ferry
Taxi/Private Transfer
Train
Bus

Once you get there, getting around Positano is simple…you walk! Seriously, everyone walks everywhere. Most of the time you’re wandering through stair filled alleys to get to your destination catching stunning views of the sea along the way. Other times you’re walking on the side of the road just inches away from passing cars. This is completely normal and is how tourists get around.

When life gives you lemons, head on over to Posita When life gives you lemons, head on over to Positano to indulge in a lemony treat. Maybe order a Delizie al Limone or some limoncello. All jokes aside, Positano has more to offer than just their delicious lemons… or pizza… or pasta… or wine. Explore the multi-colored cliffside village of stacked buildings as you weave yourself through the alleys. Head down to the pebble beach and slip into cafes and boutiques along the way. Take in the sunset views as boats and yachts rock back and forth in the waves as you sip on your third Aperol Spritz. All of this sounds amazing right?

Today is the last in our series about gorgeous Por Today is the last in our series about gorgeous Porto! @rasalovestravel shares some wonderful tips from her travel below:

TIPS:

Weather here stays enjoyable for longer than most European cities so the season here is pleasant over the year.
Prices in Porto are quite reasonable so it is an affordable city even if you are on the budget.
Wear comfortable walking shoes as most urban areas have uneven sidewalks with many cracks.
Have some cash – most restaurants prefer cash over debit cards. And have some smaller notes.
People who like to party won’t be disappointed- Porto has a buzzing nightlife.
Forget about counting calories here.
And don’t try speaking in Spanish!

@RasaLovesTravel details her top reasons to visit @RasaLovesTravel details her top reasons to visit Porto!

Colorful Architecture: Porto has a really stunning old town. You will warm your heart walking the small streets of Ribeira that remained untouched with typical colorful houses, old balconies and hanging clothes. Stunning facades will wake up your artistic side. Beautiful and vibrant squares will drag you in a scene full of life. Douro river views with a famous double span iron bridge will make you feel romantic.

Culture: Portuguese culture is no less colorful than its architecture. It’s a great mix of different elements to embrace you with vibrancy, charisma, creativity, flamboyance and vitality.

Gastronomy: Portugal is known for its rich cuisine and Porto is a paradise for food lovers with so many restaurants and pastry shops for sweets lovers. For a big seafood lover like me – visiting Porto was also a feast!

“Imagine a country so colorful that it instantly brings cheer and hope to your life.
In Portugal, people enjoy small things in life and care for the people they love. I absolutely salute this way of life. I also admire Europe's sunniest country for vivid towns, sparkling beaches, extravagant architecture and great food. It’s a joy to explore.”

Did you see the start of our Mother Daughter Trip Did you see the start of our Mother Daughter Trip yesterday? We had so much fun in Chicago!

Here are a few things we did:

Shopping!
My daughter is at the age where fashion is EVERYTHING to her and we definitely took some spending money for Michigan Avenue and the surrounding streets. She was in heaven strolling along popping in and out of stores. I was really proud of her for budgeting that way and I would highly recommend that to parents!

All in all, we spent a solid 6 hours shopping! The only reason we stopped was to get ready for the concert!

Coldplay Concert at Soldier Field:
THERE ARE NO WORDS to describe it. My daughter looked at me after the first song and I could see the look of disbelief on her face. I realize that I am a superfan, seeing them live all across the US since college but seeing them with my daughter was extra special. Moral of the story? Get the tickets to the concert and make that memory.

Exploring the City Streets:
The hustle and bustle and the architecture are the two things that my daughter loved the most! Get out and get your steps in for the day! If it is your first time visiting Chicago, you have to go to The Bean! It’s basically a right of passage.

We LOVE Chicago! Where we Stayed: The Gwen We LOVE Chicago!

Where we Stayed:
The Gwen Hotel
We loved this hotel so much that I wrote an entire blog post about it! Will share soon!

Getting There:
You can fly into O’Hare or Midway and I think both airports are very easy to figure out! There are signs with clear directions of where to go upon landing.

Getting Around Town:
Highly recommend taking the train or taxis in Chicago! People in Chicago are SO nice and helpful if you are nervous about taking the train. I would say to take a taxi instead of an Uber in Chicago. What we found is that the Uber cars would take a much longer time than what was posted and were often times more expensive than a taxi!

👩🏼 I love going on our family vacation each 👩🏼 I love going on our family vacation each year to the beach! I carefully select outfits that are on trend that I know will travel well. The outfit that I am sharing today is pretty basic but it is such a comfortable look for a night walk on the beach or sightseeing on the pier! Details linked in the bio.

Top: Anthropologie
Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores and that is where I purchased this Maeve top. Unfortunately, it is no longer available but I got you covered! I specifically like this Maeve brand because it is very feminine and delicate but it also travels well!

Shorts: Madewell
These are some of my most worn shorts of the summer because I love the wash and fit on them. They definitely show a little more skin but they don’t call these the “holy grail jean shorts” for nothin!

Shoes: Free People
The wide strap design on these Free People Wren Sandals make them super on trend for summer. There is a slight platform on these with the perfect amount of cushion for walking!

Did you see our latest post on the Grand Hyatt Kau Did you see our latest post on the Grand Hyatt Kauai? Here is an excerpt below:

This place is a 10/10 and is more than deserving of having its own post. This upscale, oceanfront hotel has lush gardens, incredible pools, outstanding service and elegant rooms complete with marble bathrooms and private lanais. Is it pricey? Yes! But if you can swing it..even if for just a few days of your trip, we think it is worth it.

Restaurants…there are 10 of them! Here are our favorites:
Tidepools Restaurant
Be sure to book reservations early as you will want to eat here! This place has the trifecta. Fresh seafood/steak, ambiance and stellar waitstaff.
Dondero’s
Fine Italian Dining! Be sure to sit outside to enjoy views of the garden.
Stevenson’s Library
Serving sushi and craft cocktails, we loved this place!

Anara Spa
The Anara Spa is the largest spa on the island coming in at a whopping 45,000 square feet. I was able to get a massage in a hut in a gorgeous outdoor treatment room. There are lava-rock outdoor showers, a lap pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpools. Honestly, you feel like you are miles away from everything. Connected to the spa is where you will find the fitness center that truly is state of the art.
