The views at Swallow Falls were simply stunning! We were shocked at the size of the waterfall at Muddy Creek! The best part is that you could take your shoes off and head into the water and explore. The hike itself had a very clear path and we all agreed that our parents (late 60’s/early 70’s) would be able to manage it. The forest was LUSH and green and it felt like we were on a movie set at times. Gorgeous! We would all highly recommend it!

We made a pact at the end of the boating season last year that this summer we would take a trip together. The catch? We wanted to trailer our boat, spend time on an inland lake, have lots of activities to choose from and eat some delicious food.

Whether you’re in Positano to hike, experience the culture, or relax, there is something for everyone. Here are a few things to do while in Positano:⁠
Positano Spiaggia: This is the main beach in Positano. It stretches about 300 meters with parts of it managed by L’incanto. Rent lounge chairs and umbrellas for the day and enjoy food and drinks provided by the L’incanto restaurant. ⁠

Path of the Gods: The Path of the Gods is a popular walking route that climbs along the cliff sides offering the best views of the Amalfi Coast.⁠

How to Get to Positano⁠
So let’s rip the bandaid off. Positano does not have an international airport. Scratch that, Positano does not have an airport what-so-ever. The closest airport is Naples, Italy. Cool. So you fly into Naples, then what? ⁠

You have a few options to get from Naples to Positano:⁠

Ferry⁠
Taxi/Private Transfer⁠
Train⁠
Bus⁠
⁠
Once you get there, getting around Positano is simple…you walk! Seriously, everyone walks everywhere. Most of the time you’re wandering through stair filled alleys to get to your destination catching stunning views of the sea along the way. Other times you’re walking on the side of the road just inches away from passing cars. This is completely normal and is how tourists get around. ⁠

When life gives you lemons, head on over to Positano to indulge in a lemony treat. Maybe order a Delizie al Limone or some limoncello. All jokes aside, Positano has more to offer than just their delicious lemons… or pizza… or pasta… or wine. Explore the multi-colored cliffside village of stacked buildings as you weave yourself through the alleys. Head down to the pebble beach and slip into cafes and boutiques along the way. Take in the sunset views as boats and yachts rock back and forth in the waves as you sip on your third Aperol Spritz. All of this sounds amazing right? ⁠

Weather here stays enjoyable for longer than most European cities so the season here is pleasant over the year.⁠
Prices in Porto are quite reasonable so it is an affordable city even if you are on the budget.⁠
Wear comfortable walking shoes as most urban areas have uneven sidewalks with many cracks.⁠
Have some cash – most restaurants prefer cash over debit cards. And have some smaller notes.⁠
People who like to party won’t be disappointed- Porto has a buzzing nightlife.⁠
Forget about counting calories here.⁠
And don’t try speaking in Spanish!⁠

When we first bought our boat, we realized very quickly that we needed to embrace the “Lake Life” and get some new clothes to go along with our exciting purchase!

We had heard awesome things about @ShoreSociety, a shop inspired by Lake Erie and we decided to check it out. We have been HUGE supporters ever since! You may have seen us sporting our ball caps and sweatshirts in previous posts!

The shop sells nautical clothing that is so comfortable along with amazing smelling candles, home decor and dainty jewelry. Located at 2909 Detroit Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, the brick and mortar shop is stunning and honestly, so is Rachael, the owner! Stop in to find unique gifts or do a little shopping for yourself!

Shopping!⁠
My daughter is at the age where fashion is EVERYTHING to her and we definitely took some spending money for Michigan Avenue and the surrounding streets. She was in heaven strolling along popping in and out of stores. I was really proud of her for budgeting that way and I would highly recommend that to parents! ⁠

All in all, we spent a solid 6 hours shopping! The only reason we stopped was to get ready for the concert!⁠

Coldplay Concert at Soldier Field:⁠
THERE ARE NO WORDS to describe it. My daughter looked at me after the first song and I could see the look of disbelief on her face. I realize that I am a superfan, seeing them live all across the US since college but seeing them with my daughter was extra special. Moral of the story? Get the tickets to the concert and make that memory.⁠

Exploring the City Streets:⁠
The hustle and bustle and the architecture are the two things that my daughter loved the most! Get out and get your steps in for the day! If it is your first time visiting Chicago, you have to go to The Bean! It’s basically a right of passage.⁠

Making memories with my daughter and husband are m

Making memories with my daughter and husband are my favorite parts of life. Obviously, traveling to different destinations is one of the BEST ways to do that! Every year, I try to take our daughter away (just the two of us) for some concentrated time. We visited for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend and had SO MUCH FUN!⁠

She wanted to go to a big city for a long weekend and Chicago (please don’t hate me!) is my favorite of the big cities in the United States. It is also a very short plane ride from Ohio, full of teen-friendly things to do and see…OKAY, and FINE, FINE…we were there for an event. THE COLDPLAY CONCERT!!!⁠

BUT…we did make time to visit my favorite beach…Oak Street Beach!⁠
This is my favorite beach in Chicago because it is so close to downtown, I love the views, it is so clean…AND it is not that crowded. Literally a win all around. We took a walk on the sand, took in the views of Lake Michigan and even stopped for a snack at the Oak Street Beach Cafe.⁠

Getting There:⁠
You can fly into O’Hare or Midway and I think both airports are very easy to figure out! There are signs with clear directions of where to go upon landing.⁠

Getting Around Town:⁠
Highly recommend taking the train or taxis in Chicago! People in Chicago are SO nice and helpful if you are nervous about taking the train. I would say to take a taxi instead of an Uber in Chicago. What we found is that the Uber cars would take a much longer time than what was posted and were often times more expensive than a taxi! ⁠

Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago:⁠
My daughter LOVES Nick Cave…like LOVES so when we were looking for things to do in Chicago, I saw that he had an exhibition at MCA. We spent a lovely morning, looking at contemporary works of art and discussing their meaning. After all, she is basically a teenager and full of ideas and opinions and I love listening to her!⁠

Blue Man Group:⁠
We don’t have any photos because they are not permitted but if you have the chance to see this show it is highly entertaining! I think the biggest surprise for me was how interactive it is with the audience! They pulled audience members up to the stage to participate and it was super fun and engaging for all ages.⁠

Just wanted to share a way to dress down this super affordable dress. I would wear this outfit on a plane to travel, to run errands, or even on a more casual date night with my husband!⁠

Dress: Old Navy⁠
I bought this dress a few months ago on a whim when I saw it at Old Navy and I still adore it! I just love how the fabric is breathable, and that is billowy but doesn’t overwhelm my frame. ⁠

Denim Jacket: Gap⁠
I have shared this before but it is a timeless denim jacket with the perfect wash to go with so many different outfits. I love the fit and the longer arms so I can roll the sleeves. It doesn’t have a lot of stretch (which I love in a jacket) and it is so soft and comfortable. I take it on every trip because it is so versatile.⁠

Shoes: Golden Goose⁠
These are a definite splurge and Golden Goose are either your thing or not! I am clumsy, spill things and could probably create my own GG sneaker within a matter of weeks so I understand if you hate them. For me, I just LOVE them because they are so comfortable. The distressed look isn’t just about aesthetics…it is also practical. Golden Goose takes the “breaking in” period out of wearing sneakers and they are literally handmade by master cobblers in Italy. Nuts!⁠

Dress: 4th+Reckless: Cici Satin Midi Dress⁠
I am drawn to prints but wanted to pick a classier one that will transition across all seasons. I definitely found it with this satin dress from 4th+Reckless. I can’t even begin to tell you how many of these satin/silk dresses I have sent back because the fabric does NOT look right…but this one skims the body and is so flattering. The midi length on it with nude heels is perfect and it is an affordable dress that looks and feels luxe. Also…I was able to open it directly from the package and put it on without any steaming so I think this dress would travel well!⁠

Shoes: Stuart Weitzman⁠
When I purchase a pair of shoes, I know that I am going to have them and wear them for a long time so these are an investment piece and a splurge for sure. If you need a pair of higher heeled sandals (these are about 4.5in) that are comfortable…these are an excellent choice! I wear these with dresses and jeans! The only thing I would suggest is getting one of those grippy pads for the bottom!⁠

Sunglasses: Christian Dior⁠
These Dior sunglasses are from a few seasons ago but they are the “Sideral 1 Sunglasses” and what I love most about these are how lightweight they are! They are also universally flattering with the black and gold details!⁠

Clutch: Amazon⁠
There are some items (like shoes) that I know upfront that I will use quite a bit so I invest my money there right away. Other things, I like to wait to see how often I will use them before I invest in a bigger ticket item…it really is all about balance! I use this clutch from Amazon A LOT and I have to say that for the price point, it is of high quality. I love taking it to fancier date nights or work events. I also do not love traveling with my more expensive handbags so this clutch is perfect for vacations!
